Hey there,
I am looking to change th fog lamps on the outback and i was thinking about getting Hella or PIAA's,but, i have no idea which ones will fit the best.
I was hoping to get ones that are yellow,to give it that more euro look...
any suggestions?

Hella 500's will fit. Grab some yellow rock blocker and you're set. Look at Sybir's thread in readers ride I entitled "Hooptywagon". On page two towards the bottom he has pictures of my former hella 500 amber lights mounted in his outback bumper. Its a tight fit from what I've heard, but it is a fit.

Hella 500s fit, and they are priced extremely well for what you get. PIAA lights might be a little better, but they're twice as expensive.

You can get it cheaper at www.rallylights.com (http://www.rallylights.com)

the only thing is that the kit on that site doesn’t include the light bulbs...

*edit

just to calm my soul, did anyone ever order anything from this site? can i trust them to ship and all with no problems?

The kits all come with light bulbs AFAIK. I don't imagine that any of them are different as they're all put together by Hella.

edit: I have ordered from Rallylights. They promptly shipped my stuff out. I've heard lots of good things about them.

Check out Advance auto near you. They usually have Hella lights.

edit: My bad, you probably don't have advance in Winnepeg.

I received my hella's within 3-4 days. Very fast shipping, and yes, rally lights includes the bulbs. It comes in a big box with everything straight from Hella.

Unless you know you REALLY want amber lights, get the clear lights with yellow rockblocker. It took me quite a while to sell my set. Seems only subie drivers really rock the yellow light.

We just had this discussion over on www.subaruoutback.org (http://www.subaruoutback.org) not long ago as I'm looking for lights for 97 Outback. Hella 500 will fit, but are a pain in the ass to mount. PIAA 520 are easier to mount, but twice the price. Hella FF200 are supposed to be pretty easy to mount, and cheaper than the PIAA's.

Edit: Link to thread from person who installed the FF200 lights. (http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6182&highlight=ff200)

the ff200 sounds nice, but the thing is that the main reason why i want the 500's amber is b/c of the yellow and b/c i know it will fit.
plus i really want to give my car that special look since i never saw an outback with yellow fog's in my city.
having clear fog's kind of gives it a more "stock" look :-(

thanks for the suggestions though!

Yellow rockblocker is a great deal because it makes your fogs yellow and protects them! You don't have to get the Hella lenses in amber to get that yellow look.

+1 for rallylights being a good place to get hella gear, I got my supertones and optilux 2020s from them.

That said, stick with the hella range of lights, imho their lower-end 'optilux' range are junk. My 2020s were never sealed properly from the factory and ended up corroded all to hell on the inside.
