Is there a difference between the '95-'96 headlamps vs the '97 headlamps? One source I checked indicated there was a difference.

Another question: how much "better" are the '95-'97 headlights over the '98-'99 headlights?

They both suck. 97 and up have a clear glass/plastic with the reflector on the back providing the directionality of the light. These are also two piece lights.

95-96 are a thick plastic that has directionals inside the lamp producing the light. Also, they use different bulbs. These are one piece lights.

I would actually trade lights for lights with someone, so long as they snipped their bulb socket out with the lights. And vice versa. However, I daily drive my car and can't be waiting for a week without lights, so it'd have to be a local.

Hmmm, interesting.

I understood that the earlier one-piece lights had better lighting (light output or beam pattern or whatever) than the two-piece clear lens headlights. So, what you're saying is that they are both bad and IF the ealier lights were better, they're not better by much?

Exactly. The one pieces were supposedly better. I think alot can be achieved by adjusting the lights. I know mine were pointed too far down for a long time.

Thanks! I have the opportunity tomorrow to swap my two-piece lights for the one piece lights plus handing over $60 but I think I'll keep the cash for some other lighting system that will REALLY make a difference.

I've got the one-pieces. they are bright, but angled a bit high. I could adjust it, but i like the dirty looks i get from other drivers.

I've got 1 piece lights sitting in the basement. With good bulbs and a good polishing, they're decent.

Nothing compared to my JDMs though
