Keyless entry help.. again

Sometimes my keyless entry works, sometimes it doesn't.

I could be standing right beside my car and pressing the button and nothing happens and then after 5 or 6 tries, it works sometimes. Other times it works flawlessly.. so I thought it was the battery.. replaced that and now its even worse..

Am I missing something? Maybe a way to "pair" it again or something.. kind of like a garage door with the opener?

You have a factory system?
Try digging around under the dash for the control box - there is a wire antenna (like the FM antenna's on clock radios) - you can extend that wire up into the windshield/dashboard area, which will allow the signal to avoid the metal body of the car.
