Has anyone heard of the Legacy GT30? It's a Japanese model that I just discovered. Basically I guess it's a Legacy GT with the EZ30 H6 motor in it. It's different than the Lancaster in that the Lancaster is more like an Outback. This interests me because it's basically what mine is gonna turn out to be.

I found this Subaru press release here: http://www.fhi.co.jp/english/news/press/2002/02_01_21_02.htm

Here's a picture I dug up on Google:

So... I'm not sure where I'm going with this, other than I thought it was pretty cool. Does anyone else have any information on this?

Oh yeah, this is another reason I can refuse to "just sell this car and buy a real Legacy GT!", as so many people say I should do.

I have those exact rims on my 98 GT wagon....that someone should buy.

Hmm, I thought that was a Legacy STi, or something like that. I know they offer the Legacy with a 2 liter turbo and a 3 liter NA H6, both have the option of a 6MT.

The Legacy basically splits off into two paths; sporty and luxury. The 3.0l motors are usually put in the cars that are more like sport-tourers, as opposed to a more performance-oriented model that usually gets the turbo motor.

The bigger NA mill is more refined and direct in power delivery, while the turbo motors have that kick in the back once the spool kicks in; so it fits with what subaru tries to sell in each of their respective model.

AFAIK, there's also an RSK H6 model as well, which is like a step up from the GT30.

I think that's known as the B4 RS30.
