weapon-r intake secret

i just got a weapon-r secret for christmas for my 99 2.5gt limited and i installed and when i did i noticed a hose was hanging(next to the crankshft pcv about 3/4" thick) there it doesnt connect into anything from what the directions say but everytime i start the car it shuts right off does anybody have this intake and did you have this problem

It's the Idle Air Bypass line. Out of all of them you HAVE to have that one hooked up.

The reason it's shutting off is because the MAF isn't picking up any air movement, so you're not getting any fuel in, and it can't run w/o fuel.

Yep. That hose is vital. It allows air into the engine, even with the throttle plate completely closed. Check out my ebay intake DIY to start getting some ideas.

I read Mark's intake threads before thinking about even touching my stock intake. ;) that's what persuaded me to get an aftermarket intake that has all of the right connectors. :p

i fixed the problem and it works now, and what a sound difference it is much louder than i thought it was going to be, not much diff in the hosepower, better alcerration not much but better. Oh and it looks just like the "ebay intake" that Plays_with_Toys posted but it comes with a filter and adapter for the MAF to elimate the stock air box.

Has all the nipples for the vaccum lines?

I am curious, weapon R is always bragging about the outter pipe and an inner pipe, did this one have both?

Yup...Right where it connects to the throttlebody theres an inner pipe that runs inside the outer pipe

it's not through out the whole pipe?

I'm pretty sure it's just a pipe about an inch or so long inside the end of the pipe closest to the TB. Supposedly, in increases the velocity of the air or something.

Well hell, I could put a pipe in mine for less than the $80+ difference if that's all it is.
