So what does a FWD honda civic/prelude with a WRX motor look and sound like?

Well, in my favorite racing game... like this:

The game is live for speed, and there is an audio synthesizing program that someone created where you can upload audio maps and tweak the sounds to amazing realism. This particular car (which is make believe) has a flat four motor and front wheel drive platform. The sound sampling is from a WRX. That is realtime audio as you would hear it when playing the game. Brake squeels, backfire, everything.

Here's a video of a different car and links to downloads and such:

This game is free, right? I've been meaning to download it. I hear it's super buggy though.

Buggy? I don't think so at all. The game is super intense, and incredibly hard to control with out an analog controller of some kind. I was using my mouse for steering, but still you had to really feather the throttle. A steering wheel is optimal.

But yes, this game is partially free. You download the entire game, and then you have one track and 3 cars unlocked. Its like 20 pounds per license (S1 unlocks several cars/tracks, S2 unlocks more tracks and cars). You also get an autocross layout editor.

It is insanely addictive. And I can't wait to go back to school where it's installed on my comp and play some more (just unlocked everything).

Just downloaded and played. Very fun and challenging! Fun to tweak all the settings. I love the physics.

This is cool, PC sims are where it's at. If only I had a nice PC, no racing games on the mac.

That's why I got a PS3 though, GTHD FTW
