Yep, today i drove the car just fine. But tonight, I drove the car and it feels slow and a loud sound while accelerating. After I got off work, and found oil spots on the ground where i park this afternoon. It's dark out, so Im going to wait til morning and see whats going on.

I know it has a Headgasket, but not bad. I think its kicking in now.
either that, Im loosing oil through the valve covers gaskets, Which i know leaks oil, but not enough to hit the ground like that.

Yep, Car has 114k on it now. Last time i check Kelleys blue book, it was 4k for trade in, and 5-6 for individually sell.

We'll see :|

Around here some of the 4x4/AWD dealerships are offering trade ins + 3k more because of our recent blizzards. That's halfway to a WRX.

Anyway, I hope its nothing too serious. Any overheating or anything?

That sounds like some pretty bad oil leaks. Is the oil leaking back onto the exhaust?

No over heating, normal temp.

1st I thought the Wheel Bearings gave out on me, they too are gone bad. But this sound was coming from the engine, louder than normal.

Shits probly starving for oil since it leaks most of it out.

No overheating? Odd.

You really should've stopped driving it, there's a very good chance you warped the heads doing so.

The heads wouldn't warp if he wasn't overheating I don't think.

I had something very similar happen to mine, iirc, it was the main crank seal(?)

Sounds liek it's leaking too much to be the valve cover that's causing it, unless for some reason it just went.

My BE had holes in the oil pan...

I've heard of the 2.2 and 2.5 DOHC motors overheating, but the temp gauge never got above normal. The only reason that the drivers knew they were overheating was steam and/or locked up engines.

Geeze, I should take pictures of the Forester engine they have at the local Subaru stealership's service department. They were towing the poor thing behind their RV, and left it in gear, in first. :(

Heh, the RV was on I5 going 60 mph, and they didn't notice people honking at them and waving at them to slow down and stop, so they didn't actually stop the RV until the car had caught on fire.

That poor block, it's mangled. Bent some connecting rods... Blew a huge hole in the block.

There was a picture on here somewhere of a F-150 that was towed in park. The wheels were melted almost all the way up to the axles.

That'd be one costly mistake, I doubt insurance would do anything. I wonder too if they had the front tires off the ground. Whether they knew how to tow it even if it was in neutral.

They should be shot.

I went out and check it this morning. Look under the car, and no oil drips, stains or whatsoever. Just clean as it can be, except a little bit of oil from the valve covers

Engine does run weird, louder than normal now.

As soon as i get my bumper fix, Im trading it in for something reliable.

ps, I saw a newish 2dr Honda civic on the used car lot. front end damage but nothing big

I'd give the car a nice refresh.

Give the engine a one-over. Replace gaskets, and what not, then get the car detailed or do it yourself. You might look at the car differently.

I went through the same routine and would just end up back at square one again, keeping the legacy. However, I have a lot of time invested in mine.

Or just swap the bitch

I couldn't resist. :D

Convet to RHD, get a JDM steering rack, and a TT 2 liter?

Wiscon_Mark

Single turbo is better, so why go through all that effort?

jDm y0!

Wiscon_Mark

Then get an EJ207 twinscroll turbo setup. It's JDM and much much faster than a TT.

Oh Mark, you and your tom-foolery.

I wouldn't touch a JDM engine even with someone else car, at least not here in the states.

I drove the car the other day, while driving, I realise how much i love my car, and I don't want to give it up :-(
