CEL & sluggish now

had to replace my starter the other day, and and the day after, i get a CEL, no clue how to check the code, but now the car runs sluggish when accelerating. when the light first came on, i felt a tapping in the engine at idle. but after that its seemed to run fine other than the being sluggish part. anyone have any ideas of what it may be?

Well, since it happened right after you were working on the car, my first suggestion would be to go back over everything you did. Make sure you didn't leave any wires/hoses unplugged. You might have bumped something loose that you didn't realize. Next, if your car is OBD2, take is somewhere like Autozone that can scan the computer and tell you the code that's set, and then we can give you a better idea what to be looking at.

Reset the ECU first.

Then see if a code pops up again. Get it read at Autozone if it does.

What the others have said. As far as sluggishness, with certain codes the car will go into limp mode and won't run as strong.

well i reset the ecu today, no more CEL. thanks guys, no clue what it was, but at least its gone. thanks for tha help guys.

oh ya, i got my new set of rims on and installed my sirius radio today too = ballin lol.

ya, i def plan on gettin an obdII code reader, they have them pretty cheap on ebay, maybe i'll pick one up on there...
