Hello everyone,

Just recently picked up my 1st Subie: an '01 Legacy Brighton and I wish to add a pair of fog/driving lights for better illumination of the road and the agressive look. =P

Found these on eBay and thought they were pretty good deals, but I just need some comments for which set to get as I would like to install them in the place where factory foglights would be:

Hella FF100:

Hella FF200:

All comments are welcome. I've looked at the factory foglights from SubaruParts.com, but can't convince myself to shell out $200 for them, plus I believe either of these Hellas should give me more lighting than factory lights, right?

By the way, I think this is a great forum as I've found numerous tips and tricks here to fix up my car, and I'm just waiting to get a few inches of the white stuff on the ground to take advantage of the AWD!!!

Id go with the elliptical ones. Theyd fit your bumper better

Hi shazapple,

Thanks for the quick reply!

That's what I was thinking too, but I was curious as to which set would give a better beam pattern for driving, as I often go night skiing and the backroads that I'd travel on has little or no lighting most of the way.

I don't think the 200's will fit the openings on a Legacy. They're what I'm looking at getting for my Outback, which has bigger openings than the Legacy, as far as I know. Have you measured yours to see if a 5+ inch light will fit?

No, I haven't had a chance as the car is still at my friend's bodyshop, getting some rust inside the lip of the rear gate taken care of... I'm not even sure if the 100's would be too wide for that opening...

I wouldn't mind maybe mounting the 200's in front of the grill if I can get my friend to weld me a mounting bar, but I think that may be too much work...

If you're looking for the Hella 200's, the eBay link that I've provided above is a pretty sweet deal. You should check it out! But thanks for your comments nonetheless!

You can have the larger circular lights fit, however you'll need to bend and cut a bracket to make them stick out of the opening so they're literally sitting in front of the bumper...

I ended up winning the bid for the FF100 for about $48+shipping, which I think was a pretty good deal considering they retail for about $90-120 on most sites.

Just have to wait for them to arrive and put them on the car!!!

I was looking to see if there was pre-wiring in the car, but couldn't find anything... But I'm pretty sure there's wiring to the dummy switch where the oem foglight switch would have been when I had my new car deck installed. It's be cool if I could just use the factory wires and switch to operate these lights!
