I noticed a lot of the newer model cars now have a section on the mirror that blinks for the turn signal. Either on the casing or on the actual mirror itself.
here's a kit being sold on eBay [click] (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/White-LED-Neon-Turn-Signal-Mirror-Glow-Arrows_W0QQitemZ320068095917QQihZ011QQcategoryZ33713QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Has anyone installed one of these yet? It looks like a simple process. Stick the lights on the mirrors and patch the wires into the turn signal wires in your fuse box.
I had an accident earlier this year, so I'm looking more for safety than style. Too many idiot drivers around here. I don't think my baby can take another hit.

Theres JDM sidemarkers around as well. Usually on ebay
No need to run either of them to your fuse box just wire them up to the front signals

JDM sidemarkers will look much better and will probably be more visible than those mirror lights. The ones on the mirrors are usually there for really long vehicles that have a bigger blindspot. If you're hanging out in the blindspot and they turn their signal on (once in a blue moon  ) then you know they will be switching lanes towards you. Most cars don't have a large enough blindspot to warrant side marker lights.
The JDM side lights are practically plug and play. All you have to do is splice a couple wires.

JDM lights are pretty cool.. but too expensive for a turn light.. i think. Plus.. i dont see how you could see them from the side of someones car really unless you are either beside them, or really close?
I have seen them working in action before on some of the newer cars.. and they are nice.. i just dont think they grab my attention as much as the lights on someones mirrors.
I think those mirror lights on ebay are pretty cool looking, although i wonder how long they would stay on the mirror, and how much of an obstruction to your driving they would become when looking in the mirror. I wonder if they just have white light?
But yea, either JDMs, or those are a good choice.

I'll look into the JDM markers. I see them mentioned a lot throughout this great forum.
As for colors, according to the eBay page, they also have them in Blue, Green, Purple, Red, Yellow, Pink and Aqua. Basic white or maybe yellow would be good enough for me.
I also wonder about the adhesive coating. You figure they'd probably fall off eventually when moisture creeps in. The obstruction doesn't look too bad since it doesn't take up much room on the actual mirror.
Maybe a better option for these cheapies is to take the mirror off, get to the back of it, trace the pattern on there and carefully carve or cut it out and then attach the blinker in there so it ends up inside the mirror casing.
