Codes for the stock cd player 'e-3'

Hello: Just got my pansonic 6-disc magazine and put it in the cd player of my 97 legacy gt. The controler is showing a E-3 code??? So does that mean the player is shot, or just jammed or what?? :cry:

I had that code on mine when I first installed it too, re did the connections and it went away, been a year now and haven't seen it again. Don't know what it really was.

Thanks for the response, do you mean you just took the wires off and replugged them in, or what did you mean by re-did the wiring???:)

Yup - just unplugged, replugged and went through the splices to be sure nothing was loose. I've always thought it may have been a bad connection, but dont know for sure

Thanks, I just took the cd player apart and it seems as if the gears were jammed. Started working, but I had the screws out so when the player came on the whole thing tried to come up and apart. :lol: . Now I have it back together and I am hoping it still works, the dealer wants 350.00 for the unit.

Don't screw with the dealer if it doesn't work - they come up on ebay often, paid 87.50 plus shipping for mine - came in original packaging w/cables and all. I may be selling mine - let me know if you need it, I'd let it go for $340 (with no shipping) LOL.

Ok, took this player apart, very interesting but not sure if I did any good, will be putting it back in to see if it works, I still think its just jammed, or should I say toast :-( .

Well not much left to do but get a working changer. If anyone has one cheap, let me know.

is thad the oem cd-changer thad goes under the passenger seat you´re talking about ??

Hi: My cd player or changer is under the passenger seat, but I need to replace it. Tried to fix it but it is shot :cry: . My radio does not look anything like the picture. Mine has the cd controller on the bottom, it seems to be working fine.

So now I am looking on e-bay to see if one comes up for sale. The one I need is the Panasonic 6-disk changer.
