Marnie's '97 Legacy GT

this is my Legacy, it is Gil's old car. He had it listed as an "awesome winter car" which was just what I was looking for . . . needed something to abuse while I took my Civic off the road for a few months. It was already pretty nicely modded but I've added a few more things to it. Right now I still have to hook up the heated seats, and I might throw a set of mud flaps on there, but other than that I'm done (until I blow the motor :D ) I've been having fun with it at RallyCross, and just did my first TSD rally last night.

haha, me too! we finished the install 2 hours before the rally started, and tried to aim them in broad daylight. didn't work!! but I could see the trees really well last night. I reaimed them this evening, should be better now.


Is this your first Subaru? What do you think of it vs your Civic?
it is my first subaru. I love it, they are both good cars for their own purposes. Having 2 old cars with different uses is much better than having one new expensive car that I can't afford to work on. :)

hmmm... is this rally on the 20th like a rally cross? it's not too far of a drive for me i might be interested in bringing the bugeye up to play.

it's not, but we will be on a lot of dirt roads. Rallycross is on hold until the ground dries up. :(

Nevermind about the mud guards, they don't fit 97, and they won't fit on a GT anyway. :(

What size are the tires mounted on the 15" outback rims? I have the same rims with stock tires from the outback but they rub real bad and want to replace em with good snow tires?

Kyle, I'd reccomend 185-65-15 tires for you. If you want snows, you don't want them to be wide. I'm running Michelin Xice tires at that size, and they're amazing.

Yea, the stock out backs are like 70 profile and I have a feeling they're going to rub real bad besides the fact that theyre dry rotted, but hey the rims and tires were free.

I would put it on the inside of the plastic to remove glare.

heh, it's just a LED headlamp from the hunting department at wal-mart, wrapped around the steering column. :shock: the glare isn't really a problem.
