Hi all, just bought my first Outback a few days ago. She's a high miler but I know that she'll make me proud (I also own an SVX which has not disappointed me). I've been a lurker for a bit and decided that i'd like to be a part of the group, lots to learn and lots of experience to give. Hope to talk to you all soon. Jeremy

You mean 99 30th anniversary? If it's a 98MY, it'd be the 29th anniversary ;)

I wish I did mean it that way but as far as all the paperwork and the vin state it says 98my 30th anny. Its strange i know but...... :-?

As soon as I can get her clean and all I will be posting pics I'm very excited still

Maybe 'techically' subarus 30th anniversary was started 30 years prior to the month when the 98 model of your car was released? That way it would have covered the months of 98 when the car at at the technical 30th anniversary, as well as those in 1999 which fell under the '30th anniversary' as well? I dont know.. just a guess?!?

Pretty sure 30th anniversary is simply the year of production - meaning that some cars were built in 98 (Aug onwards) and then finished production in June of 99.

I had a 99 Impreza, which was manufactured Sept 98.

My 97 GT was manufactured in 96.

Yah. Mine was September of 94 (we bought it on September 18th too! Fresh off the lines in Indiana!) The 07s were out in the fall of 06...they were made in 06 obviously, not 07.

The VIN does not tell you the model year directly (only the chassis code and certain other details that you could use to figure out the MY), the plate that the VIN number is on however, tells you the year of production.

You have MY99, my friend
