BTW...i have a 95 L wagon that could use some of the outback parts :cool: (ie front bumper)

Id fix it and keep it since it looks straight but i dont want a AT :/. I'll be taking a look at it on Saturday.

I would have guessed more but since you will need to get the HG fixed $900 definitely sounds alright.

Say the HG costs 1k, thats $1900 for a 97 Outback in fairly good condition (from what can be seen in the pic).

It's worth more than $900 if the frame is straight and the rest of the car is in good condition.

Wheels and tires alone would be $3-400 to the right person.

You could get the HG fixed for $500, if you supply parts and do some of the labor yourself. This is assuming the heads haven't warped.

$900 + $1300 HG job (according to ad) = $2200 for a $4000 car.

Even with the mileage on the drivetrain, if the engine is solid (with new HGs) then you could flip the car for at least $4k locally, maybe more on ebay.
(shipping would be a PITA)

Or, you could take both vehicles, and trade them both in on a newer car.

Would be a fun project to do just for the sake of doing.. and then maybe you could just part it out and make the money you spent back.. if not make some extra. Buy it regardless, you will make money off it. You might not want to part it out, there already a GT being parted out. Some cases competition isn't good :wink:

There's not much else that defines the outback as different than your Legacy. Just the suspension, bumper, and a few luxury features (interior junk) like the seats.

I think I'll go with coilovers eventually. Swapping suspension components just sounds like a pain. Would any of the OB setup be of a benifit with a coilover setup?
