My 95' legacy L keeps throwing the p0130 codes. It throws them 2 at a time. I have a scan tool so i keep deleting them. But they will come back in about 80 miles. Now my car seems to be missing. And when I'm driving down the road, it will start spitting and sputtering but if i mash the throttle it stops acting up. This is in any gear and mostly under 3000 rpm. Its getting horrible gas millage now too. I have replaced the spark plugs with ngk v-power's, replaced the fuel filter and air filter.
Whats wrong? Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

Dude!
P0130 02 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank I Sensor 1)
Your front O2 sensor is borked. Probably the rear one as well.
Buy two new sensors and fit them.
I am trying to say you're an idiot for not replacing them, and instead looking at spark plugs and filters.
When you go WOT, the car ignores O2 readings, thats why it works when you mash the throttle.
Next time, read the manual when you use your scanner. A CEL does actually mean something.

You're right, there is a check engine light for a REASON, it's not there to be just deleted and ignored.
but that was a little harsh don't you think?

Hey thanks. I'm in the process of finding what the code is, because I don't have my book anymore. But now i know what it is, And how to fix it.

Ok then does anyone know how many wires they are? I can only seem to find universal ones.

2 wires
I would get them from Subaru. If not get Bosch from Auto Zone or a Pep Boys.

I probably wouldnt have known what that meant either.. it can be pretty arbitrary to those who dont disassemble their car on a regular basis. Especially because the code for O2 is following a number string of the error code, and it makes it even more confusing.. i didnt notice is meant O2 at first.. i just saw 02
Look at it this way.. at least you got the filters and spark plugs done.. now once you get the O2 sensors, you will be in good shape!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
Not having a manual, is no excuse - I just typed in "P0130 OBDII" into Google, the 2nd link takes you straight to the OBD codes page.
Worse than that, clearing codes and randomly replacing parts is NO way to diagnose car issues.
I might be being harsh, but I'm not apologizing for it.

True.. google is a great tool. But yea.. the code is still arbitrary because of the numbers.. like i said. I'm sure I would have figured it out.. but it still could be confusing for others. And yea.. no need to apologize  Its the friggin internet!!

Alright, alright...
I guess now I can see how the code might be a little confusing for some people. But surely, if you have a scanner, then simply posting up the code error on ANY auto forum would have netted you a pretty good response of "change the O2 sensors"....

Check it out here:

I believe you are looking for 3 wire sensors, not 2.
FWIW, I used the following sensors with good results on my car:

Bosch 15726

I was just telling you the parts i have recently replaced. It was not directed twords the code. I just got the car about 4 months ago and i had no clue when those were replaced. So i replaced them. I just didn't know if they had anything to do with it or not. And thanks for clearing up the wire issue. And yes this is only the interweb

Geez... Calm down SLi. Don't get the O2 sensors from the dealer... unless you have alot of money weighing down your pockets. The rear cost me $140, you can buy a bosch for like $60... but I thought they were three wire...?

Yes i just checked tonight they are in fact 3 wires, both front and rear.
But since the leggy is only my "beater" now, I just used some sea foam deep creep and sprayed the hell out of it. It seems to be a temp fix, but only time will tell. I am going to be replacing it as soon as possible.

Ok mabey you guys can help with this one. I got another CEL and is was p0135- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1). Does this mean that my o2 sensor is completely shot now?

DUDE.
Seafoam is not a fix for o2 sensors.
It has been repeated 10 times.
Now replace them.

You really are a winner, aren't you? Do you bother to do any research or read any posts at all!?
Given that you replaced the spark plugs, I have to assume you're competent with tools. So stop pissing around and go buy two new O2 sensors, measure the wires, wire them in and reset the ECU.
O2 sensors have a heater circuit to bring them up to temp quicker. If this heater circuit isn't working, then it's a sure fire bet to be a dead sensor.

Yes i have searched and i didnt find anything about it. And yes i am very competent with tools. But unlike some of you, im not made of money and this is not my #1 car. But thanks i couldnt find out what the o2 heater was.
