For those who have dropped their BE/BH, have you had any clearance issues with 17" rims? I am running 17x7.5 (48mm offset) Rota Tarmac II's with 225/45/17 rubber. I am wondering if I go with a front/rear drop of 1.5/1.3, will I have clearance issues with my '02 GT wagon?

So what car, what drop, what rim size, and what tire size are you running please?

I doubt you'll have issues with 17s since MitchGT is running 18s on his BE and has a drop.

Well 17's and 18's can be of the same diameter and width with tires, so if he is running the same width and height of tire, with the same offset, and the same drop, then I would be alright.

Mitch is running (i believe) 225/40/18 tires on Rota P45F's w/ a 48mm offset, and is lowered on H&R Sports spings meant for a BH on his BE with no problems what-so-ever.

Maybe he'll chime in, but he has a few posts on Nasioc with the setup, actually I think a few here too, I'd check 'em out, good pics.

So ya, if he doesn't have problems, then I shouldn't. Of course if he has wagon rear springs on his sedan, his drop may not be as much in the rear as mine would (assuming the spring rate would be higher on the wagon springs to handle the extra weight), but it shouldn't make THAT much difference. Thanks guys.

I beleive it is a higher rate so a little stiffer, but i think I'd like that. He says he likes it, so....

I've got Bilsteins out of a B4 sedan in my Outback with Whiteline Control springs and 18" x 7.5" rims with 225/45 tyres, rubbed a tiny bit in the back (although i've got a pretty weighty stereo) when I had a few people in the car and went over a speed bump, so I got the rears rolled and haven't rubbed since.

See here for pics, and a bit better explanation; http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5900

You wont have any problems running that on your BE. See the picture below, those are Rota Slipstreams 16X8, 48 offset, running 245-40-16 for racing.

For street use I use 245-40-17 mounted on 17X8.5 size rims, on the same 48 offset.

This is the car under full cornering load, no rubbing on the outer fender lip, but rubs a little on the inner front fenders during competition. No big deal though. BTW: In the pic, I'm using JIC FLT-A2 RS custom valved, using 11.5 Kg rear springs, and 9 kg front. This year I'm installing 10Kg fronts.

Sorry for the big pic:

Woot! Mah thread right there! Nice to see you over here BobbyJimmy!

Anyway, I agree with everyone else. Shouldn't have an issue with rubbing at all, especially with those low-pros.

Thanks guys. I decided not to go with lowering the car anyway - I actually like the stock height. I would rather put the money into other things on the car.

Btw Joe, they let you run with the windows down? I'm jealous :( I'm always sweating like a pig because SCCA won't let you run with them down more than an 1" from the top

Yup, we can run with windows down. No rule here against that.

I am a noob in suspension... I dont know if this gonna fit my car... can I use 02 stock wrx spring on my legacy and will it drop a little bit or keep the same height?

BE/BH's can't use WRX/Impreza struts and springs like the older cars can.

Multilink rear suspension FTL.
