Okay guys here's whatsup...

I put in my ebay intake about 2 weeks ago. After I installed it, I drove the car, and everything was peachy. Car has been fine ever since. Now you know that little hole with the rubber grommet in it on the intake? Supposedly a breather filter can go in there, or you can just plug it up. Well I covered it with heatshielding tape. You know, looks like aluminum foil with adhesive on it? Well the damn little piece that was covering the grommet is now missing and I am thinking it got sucked into the motor....Now normally I wouldn't worry about this had I used rubber or something plastic to cover it, but idiotic me used this aluminum freekin tape cause I thought it would hold better........Bottom line is did I mess anything up? Or am I screwed once the little bugger hits a certain point in the engine ?

if it really did get sucked in, it would probably just burn up. With my limited knowledge, i wouldn't worry tooooo much.

If it got sucked in, and caused a problem, you'd probably already know about it.

2500rpm is plenty of revolutions for something bad to happen. ;)

Nice - goood deal - I figured it's a bulletproof 2.2 so what's a quarter inch of aluminum foil going to do> but ya never know. In all the cars I've owned and all the mods I have performed, this has been my first mistake that I have ever made in deciding what kind of material to use to plug something. ahh well...live and learn. On to finishing up my fixing the rear fender rust and my little rear quarter panel smashy....bodywork on older cars is so much fun  makes the wagon look off-roaded
