I was going to get Intrax Springs for my BE, but Ive been through 2 retailers who say they have them, but really dont.
H&R Makes an application for the BH. Can I use that? I know itll have a stiffer spring rate, but will it physically bolt up?

Yes they will, the rear's are only slightly stiffer because of teh wagon's extra weight.

Maybe even a hair higher in the back, too. Should make it look badass, actually.

There isn't that big of a difference... MitchGT is running BH springs on his BE and it looks good.

Don't think so. You should be able to re-use your stockers.

I actually did have to get Impreza Strut Tops for the front..the H&Rs are narrower up top than the OEM Legy Springs..
The car looks pretty aggressive..

Would Group N's work?

Uhh..Im not sure..
When I say strut tops, I dont mean the part that attaches to the strut tower.
I believe the proper term is "Upper Spring Seat"

IIRC The Group Ns are a replacement for the part that attaches the Strut Assembly to the Strut tower?

strut-tops = tophats, which the common colloquial term for the rubber piece with the three bolts that bolt the whole strut to the tower in the car.
What people are talking about with the spring changes is the spring perch, which is that metal plate that holds the top of the spring up against the tophat.

Bingo. And FWIW the Group-N tophats are a nice addition if you don't mind a little NVH.

Your stock struts will last a couple weeks, if that.

H&R doesn't make BE springs. They're designed for the wagon but work on the sedan. Your stock struts are not designed to work w/lowering springs.

Yes, you'll want to get aftermarket struts.

Thanks alot guys!!!
I saw Khanhfucious is using stock struts with H&R springs, that's why I was wondering if I could do that as well.

Well, you can, it'll bolt up fine...but the struts likely won't respond well to being sat down lower and wear out faster.

It's also a case of "since you're in there". Your old struts are a replaceable item anyway, so you might as well get new units (OEM struts new are expensive) to replace the old ones when you swap springs.
You'll save yourself a lot of money from not doing the labor twice for the same thing.

hey i need some quick help from you guys. I tried to research but cant find alot of details.
There is a member on toronto subaru club offering me a set of iON performance springs that originally for his BH but I have a BE. I am just wondering will the drop looks bad at the back and do I need to buy other parts to make these springs fit on my stock struts? I have 40,000km on my car only so I dont think I really need to buy new struts.
With these BH iON springs, do I need to buy new top hats or I can keep my original ones?
Thanks for you guys help!!!
