Try the internets. There are some OEM part sellers online.

1) Shane if that link was for the hood specifically, it doesn't work, just goes to the main catalogue.

2) They don't ship hoods.

3) You need to get the scoop insert too (another $70 - $90).

You best bet is if you have a shop hookup, have them get you the hood for their cost at a local dealer. Save on the shipping and the drive to one farther away.

Most dealer want a Baja VIN #, but a hood and scoop is simple enough you can get by without one. If not, eBay is your friend for a VIN

also, the shipping would be $100 or more, so you wouldn't be saving anything by not going to the dealer.

Best place to get one? The dealer...

Not to mention what you may run into with shipping a large flat malleable object over many hundreds of miles in a truck with a bad suspension on an interstate highway that needs roadwork...

Yes, but I figured that was self explainitory... Even the dealer gets damaged ones in. But in that case it is their responsibility to replace it, not yours. What does that mean? NO HEADACHES, except how to get it home from the dealer...

Goto dealer, swap hoods in driveway, strap old one to roof. Then you don't have to worry about denting up the new one :)

Wasting gas is a good purpose... OH WAIT.. you were talking about carring things.. hahaha. nevermind!

Sorry.. i just hate all the people who drive SUV's with no reason. Especially when you see them driving around in cities and shit.. where there is NO NEED for a damn SUV. They are good for some things though.. like wasting gas, causing pollution, and carrying 8 kids around. But most of the time i see them carrying just one person.. and it really pisses me off.

when there is no gas left however.. they will make nice bunkers and or bum housing! lol.

Or you can just buy the scoop and cut your hood?

...I'm asking all this because this happened. Lets just say it was raining and I took the wrong line through a turn. How hard would it be to DIY hood and bumper install?

OUCH. sorry that happened man. Shouldnt be too hard to pull the bumper / hood off at all. Any junk yards around there with some subaru stuff, or no? Might be able to find something there.. maybe even in matching color? Damn man, hope stuff turns out okay for you.

I was lucky the damage was minimal. The headlights, foglights, and grill are all in one piece. It could have been much worse. Everything still works. The bumper is shot and the hood is bent, I think the bumper reinforcement might be bent also.......and I can't open my hood...any ideas how to get it open.

So that it is still driveable? no.

But cutting a hole in the hood around the latching mechanism should allow you to open it up.

You might also want to grab a new set of hinges while your getting parts, I did not after swapping swapping a wrecked hood off my wifes car, and the hood just doesn't line up right.

hey im not a pro at body work but i have worked on a few wrecks back in ukraine that were a lot worse than this i need to look at it mybe its still fixable not the bumber cover but the hood. i mean my old car got hit by a train that was moving at like 2 mph and it dragged my father for like 1/4 a mile and we fixed it. The damage looks more cosmetic then frame and i doubt you'll need new reinforcement. Ill be home most of the sunday if you free stop by maybe i can give you a few suggestions i live on ocean ave and w just pm me if anything. plus one of my friends has been in like three accidents in the past few years i think he knows a few decent bodyshops.

really sorry this happend to you man. your car looks awesome. really sorry to see this.

Yes it is still drivable, I'm just wating for new plates because the old one got smashed. The wheels are tires were not damaged and none of the jdm parts eather (thank god). I am not drilling holes in my hood but I may take you hinges suggestion.

Dodik - Thank you for the offer and I will PM you. Maybe you can get my hood open to inspect the damage.
