One of the most popular and cost- efficient modifications to the BH chassis Subaru is an upgraded rear sway bar. Here's how to install the IPD/ Subysolutions rear 22mm sway bar:
You'll need:
- 12 mm socket
- 14 mm wrench (ratceting wrench helps)
- 5 mm allen wrench
- Jack and jackstands
- Tire iron

First, get the rear up on jackstands and remove the rear wheels.

Then, locate where the end of the factory sway bar connects to the endlinks. Shown here:

Get your 14 mm wrench on the nut and your allen wrench in the bolt to prevent it from spinning. Like this:

Get the nut off the endlink and disconnect the endlink from the sway bar. Do this again on the other side. Like so:

Next, get your 12 mm socket and get both bolts off the sway bar bracket. Do this again on the other side.

Once you get both endlinks and both brackets unbolted, the bar should fall right off, like this:

Now, finangle that bar out around and over the exhaust to get if out from underneath the car. It takes some pactience, but it's not too tough.
Compare that wimpy stock bar to your nice, beefy aftermarket bar.

The IPD bar comes with new brackets and bushings, so lube up the new bushings with the provided grease and get 'em on the bar.
To install the new bar, you need to finangle it back over the exhaust (again, lots of pactience, it may take 1 minute, it may take 15 minutes). Once you get it over the exhaust, bolt up the endlinks first, then bolt up the new swaybar brackets. Make sure everything is nice and snug, and you're done. Should look like this:
