Engine problems

I'm looking at a 97 GT and this is what the guy said is wrong with it. "The engine was running fine before the head gasket job, however, after the head gaskets were put in, the shop could not get any compression from the engine".

Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

Only reason you wouldn't get any compression is if they put the t-belt back on wrong, and bent some valves. This should only require a pair of new heads. Rebuilding after bending valves usually requires pressing in new valve guides, which is very expensive.

If I need new heads I would just have the whole engine swapped.

For the cost.. you could probably get another engine for around $700-800 i bet.
