Just ordered the Kartboy Short-Throw shifter w/ front & rear bushings.....
Shifter will go in as soon as it arrives. Bushings will wait 'till warmer weather and greater enthusiasm.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy... I cant wait!!!

Did you get it from kartboy.com? Or is there some other sweet deal I don't know about?

Ordered it from Kartboy.com

$150 with front and rear bushings... free shipping. Every other 'deal' I found seemed to be similar,by the time shipping was worked out, so I figured I'd go to the source.

What is the difference between the wide and narrow set?

What is the difference between the wide and narrow set?

The difference is in the shifter. There's a wide and narrow shifter, depending on model years. You need to order the right bushings for the shifter you have.

How does one know the difference between the 2 without having them both in front of you?

He explains it in the articles somewhere.

If you have a BD/BG/GC/GF/GD you'll want a narrow set for sure.

Here, this'll give you an idea:

My 98 LGT shifter rod is silver. I just had the console out of it today. Id make sure which bushings you have before you order the wrong part. hth

I'm pretty sure Subaru has the same bushings for the Legacy - the wide ones were for later models.
