The muffler hopefully will be installed on 2002 Legacy GT in the near future.

I would like to know people's opinions on the fitment, quality, sound, etc whatever likes/dislikes that you guys can come up with.

Choices (in my preferred order):

Anyone have experience with these mufflers linked above?

I know some of these mufflers have inlets over 2.25" (3") i'm not planning to go over 2.25" piping. Is it possible for the exhaust shop to make it fit? How difficult is it and how much more $$ would they charge(estimate)? Does anyone have personal experience with this situation? Also, I would like to know how it will position under BE bumpers (uncut) unlike the previous models that have arched bumpers to clear muffler tips. I do not want to cut my bumper to make it fit.

Ps. Does anyone know what the differences are between the 40, Super 40, 50, and 60 Series series of the Flowmaster mufflers?

A 3" could be retrofitted but would be a bad idea. It'd just be too big. You want the muffler to be the same size as the piping.

All but the flowmaster you posted are glass packed mufflers, so they are all all going to sound roughly the same. The difference in the flowmasters is I believe their decibel levels and flow rates.

Give me a week and I might have another muffler for you to try. I finally found a welder to do my exhaust job for the price I was thinking.

I'm installing my hooker aerochamber on thursday, which is louder around town but quieter on hard acceleration according to a muffler shoot out published in a mustang magazine. Both are rated for incredible flow rates.

Have a flow on my bd and criuse and idle it sounds really good but when I'm on it . its sounds like crap. I'm ditching it for a greddy

I would also suggest the SPT muffler - its reasonably priced, sounds decent (not too loud), and is a direct bolt-on. I like mine.
