View Full Version : Cleared/Painted one peice BD/BK headlights?

hey i was just wondering if anybody has opened up BD/BK one peice headlights and either cleared the corners or painted the housing. if so how did it turn out, and what does it look like? im thinking about opening mine up, clearing the corner and painting the housing black...

I've thought about clearing it, but the fact that the lense is responsible for directing the light output scares me and my putting it back together correctly skills. I don't know how easy it is to mess up the alignment. I'm interested in what others think.

It's not hard. And theres a guy on here who will do it for you for 105 bucks, if you're still nervous about it.

im not really nervious about it, and i sure as crap aint spending 100 bux to have neat headlights for the legacy.

anybody got any pics? or special baking instructions?

There's a DIY writeup.

Also, the 100 bucks is for baking AND painting.

saw the diy, i think it should work for the 1 piece lights, ill just have to try it out some time.

If you do have issues for whatever reason (I really really doubt it) I've got a spare set of headlights that you can use.

hey mark, do u know where all the bolts/mounts for the headlights are at? do u know if i have to remove anything else before pulling out the headlights.

3 bolts: 2 on top, 1 behind the grille. (per side).

You have to give the headlight a firm tug near the turn signal though. There's a plastic push rivet in there. Just pull and it'll come along.

Right - if you pull straight out, it'll come out without too many problems.
