i just had a look at the classification for my car, and there's 2 different types of flywheels.

1) flexible type flywheel
2) dual type flywheel

what the difference?

Flexible Flywheel's are in most Subaru's.

Dual Mass Flywheels fu*k up, every one of them WILL fu*k up eventually.
They make a chirp/squeek noise (like a fan belt slipping) which is when they are starting to go.

You can put a Flexible Flywheel in a car that has a DMF in it, as long as you do the whole clutch kit (cover, disk, bearing and flywheel bolts).

DMF's are fitted to the following cars;
Australian 2.0L Liberty's from 04 -> ?
Australian 2.5L Liberty's from 02 -> ?
Eurpoean 2.0L and 2.5L Legacy's from 99 -> ?

Australian 2.5L Impreza's from 02 -> 05
European 2.5L Impreza's from 02 -> ?

Australian 2.5L Forester's from 03 -> ?
European 2.5L Forester's (Except EC spec) from 03 -> ?

Basically they take out vibrations and noises to conform to NVH standards.
