i know this has been gone over before, but i can't find good recommendations for the 2.5.

i'm getting plug wires today, and i have a couple of choices. oem wires for $75, or a set of borg warner wires w/ a lifetime warranty for $55. anybody had experience with the borg warner wires? just want to make sure i'm not buying junk.

I think they can be had for cheaper than that...

i don't think so. that was through the dealership. i checked autozone and schuck's, and their cheapest wires for my car were $50. i had schuck's price match autozone on a set of wires with a lifetime warranty, so they're giving me a set of $100 borg-warner wires for $57.

lol. thanks for all the responses. i think i'm gonna try the borg-warner wires, but they do have a lifetime warranty, so if they don't work well i will be buying the oem wires from subarupartsforyou.com. i'll let you guys know how they work out. thanks.

i've always likes ngk in general, so i would say their wires are good.

I had bosch ones, they were pretty good.

I mean, there isn't much to say about them, they're just plug wires :wink:

i guess it all depends on where you live? the borg-warner ones i bought were suppose to be $100, but they price matched autozone, so i walked with them for $57. i guess i was just in time, 2 of the old wires fell apart as i was taking them out!!! hopefully i'll pull better mileage now since doing wires and an ecu reset. checked it before doing the wires and it was 15.8 mpg all city driving. tank before that i went about 50/50 city/freeway and got 24mpg, so i dunno why it's all up and down like that.

NGK wires FTW. Noticeably better build quality than teh BOSCH wire that were on my car.

They look good too, not that that matters at all though...

Yeah, my boschs were $24+8 shipping IIRC. I got some Magnecore "racing" wires for cheap so I just threw that on a month ago :lol:

I went to crappa, the ONLY wires they had for my 2.5 GT were $115, and the only plugs they had were Autolites for $6. :p

Works well enough, though.

Minimum wage is $8.15/hr here. Things tend to be more expensive on the west coast because of that... A 20 OZ Mountain Dew, for example, is like $1.25, or $1.50, depending where you go.

I picked up a set of Magnacor wires cheap ($65) from eBay and got good results with gas milage and smoother idle.

yeah, i was hoping the ones i bought would smooth out my idle and give me better mileage, but so far it looks to be the same, no change, maybe even a little worse gas mileage. i've only gone about 185 miles and i have a quarter tank left. at this rate, i might as well have kept my lifted toyota pickup. they're costing about the same for gas, and that fucking pisses me off.
