how can i lock my diffs up electronically?

starting thinking about this the other day when my alternator failed me while i was driving. This resulted in a severe lack of electricity which caused the car to jump a lot when cornering.

EDIT: its a 98GT Sedan 4EAT

I did read a post a long time ago from a Forester owner who wired in a switch that would allow him to override the dutyC solenoid, so that he could be in D4 but have 50/50 torque split.

If the dutyC solenoid burns out though, you end up with a default 50/50 torque split, which on the automatics results in a crabbing, hopping effect when making low speed turns.

where is the dutyc located? and would one who wanted to install this switch be bypassing the dutyc or keeping it engaged at all times to get the 50/50?
