Hello all,
I've been lurking around these boards for a few weeks now since stumbling across it. What a hidden gem it is! It's teh first universal (as in not generation biased) Legacy board I've come across.
Anywhoo I'm a college student in last semester of school - thank god - and am the proud owner of a 2000 LGT Ltd. I purchased it a year ago next month with 142K and have been loving it since, bringing her up to the 170k mark already. Unfortunately its auto, but I was in the market for a car and refused anything but a Legacy and this was the best example in the price range that I could "afford".
My love for the Legacy began when I was 15. My dad was in the market for a car and we're the type of guys who like cars that are not so mainstream. I introduced him to the Leggy and that was it. It was the car I learned to drive 5spd on and from that pointed I promised myself to own one of my own at some point.
It took a few years of going through some beaters - 1st car was an 89 Dyansty and second car was a 93 Tempo (both hand me downs) until I purchased my first car, a 97 Sunfire GT. That car was a great car for a 17/18 year old but still wasn't a Leggy.
My oppourtunity came when my little brother wanted to buy a car. He was looking around and couldn't find anything descent for his price range and was getting pretty upset. Then I realised that an oppourtunity had presented itself
To make a long story short my old Sunfire is still in my driveway under the ownership of my brother, and now a Leggy is there beside it with my name on the ownership
My old car, now my brother's. The summer before I gave it to him.
