Anyone have or know where I can find a diy for pulling the engine on my Leg?

I am going to be doing the HG's on my car in the next week or so.

Thanks,
Dan

If you mark everything before hand (all connections and hose lines). Putting it back together will be less of a headache.

Supposedly, the HG's can be done by unbolting the engine mounts and using a jack and block of wood to raise the engine out of the rails enough to undo the head bolts. A buddy works at the local Subie stealership and told me he can get 'em done in 3.5 hours using this method. I'll be doing a set on mine hopefully tomorrow and if I remember I'll try to snag a few pics while im at it.

UPDATE:

Started on the HG's today....got em out no prob just jacking it up off the mounts. Granted I had access to a lift so the exhaust bolts were cake, but on the ground it wouldnt be too bad. For the cam pulley bolts, I didnt have the special tool. Remove the condenser and youll have enough room to zap them with an impact. Soulda taken pics and dome a write-up but its too late, just the belt etc to go back on now.

I was at it about 6-7 hours today. I still have to put the timing belt and covers, reg belts, a/c condenser, radiator, hoses, exhaust, and plug wires on. And the washer bottle and airbox. Shouldn't take all that long. The only SS tool that I would have liked to have was the bar to lock the cam gears but I didnt. Oooberdoob was there to lend a hand, a good second set of sober hands is a great thing. Use the car you finished fixing to get the beer so you can celebrate sucess or drink yourself into a coma.

Ok, shes all done. Another four hours today which included changing the fuel filter, snorcasectemy, and front brakes. All is well, car runs like new. 160K and its still had crosshatching in the cylinders.
