I got a question.....

Is is possible to burn your clutch enough for your car to be slipping in first gear in a matter of seconds......?

I was racing the other day and I guess i held my clutch in a liiittle too long, and every time I try to put it into first it shakes like its about to stall, but then it picks up.....

yes, it is possible to wear you clutch down so that it slips in 1 st gear.

but i really doubt you can do that with a few seconds of abuse.

well, i mean this is not the first time, i've done it before, but that was when I first was learning how to drive in stick with this new car.....

is there anything I can do, like at some clutch stop slip or something, or would I have to replace the clutch, or the gear......

I highly doubt I would have to replace the gear, but maybe the clutch....

well, cuz what happened was that as i put it into first and I let go of the clutch, i stepped on the gas and instead of the clutch coming back up, it kept on getting pulled in by itself....

whats the clutch shudder....?

Yes, it's possible, however if you just torched the clutch you would be able to rev it in gear kind of. Sounds like you have something else going on. As was said, check your clutch fluid.

You don't want to race from a dig, its just bad for the car. Try going from a 10mph roll.

i know this may sound stupid, but where is the clutch fluid located, is it by the fire wall, by the brake fluid....or is it the same container....?

Not sure exactly, but it's not the same container as the brake fluid.

Open your owners manual. Look for the section on fluids.

I don't know about the late models, but mine is right under the "torque" box.

Oh touched a nerve. I actually totally distengrated a clutch on a Nissan pickup doing a burnout being a dumbass. So yes you can screw it up. You will get to a point where the clutch won't engage enough to start the car.

thanks guys, but I think things will be fine for now, the clutch is grabbin the gears like before...i think it was just cuz the clutch was already burnt, and i was testing it wile it was hot, or something...
