If I were to install a Lightened flywheel, what other modifications would be recommended or needed? Thanks...

If you're going to be putting in a new flywheel, upgrade the clutch while you're in there, even if your stock one is fine for now. It'll save you money and headache later down the road with a more durable performance one.
However, you don't necessarily need any other modifications, you just need to be careful how light of a flywheel you go. Subaru motors don't like anything below 12ish pounds, any lighter and you'll have idle issues in my experience. Maybe with a good EM system and a tune you could get away with it, but there's no real advantage to going with a 9lb one over say a 12lb one on a street car, you're not going to rev noticeably faster and you'll lose torque.

I have a Fidanza lightened flywheel which is i bleieve 9.5 lbs on my 00 legacy. I absolutely love it. No issues with idle and revs are noticeably quicker.

hmm, that exact flywheel was the one I had issues with. My experience was on an EJ205 though, so maybe it was related to it being a turbo motor.

Thats strange. I actually had it recommended to me by a guy with a ej25t BH on this forum. He said that it made everything about driving easier and a couple other good things about it...

interesting. Well, then I'm unsure as to why, but the wrx we put that flywheel on ran like crap afterwards, and I've heard the same from other people. Maybe it depends on the car, or has something to do with a lightened crank pulley and flywheel combined.
Now I'm interested to find out what the real culprit is.... to nasioc!

If you are going with a "lightened" stock flywheel, I would recommend a scattershield. I ran one before I knew better in my talon. Now I run a SFI approved ACT flywheel.
Also with a light flywheel, I would stay away from a heavier pressure plate, as it will require a lot more slipping of the clutch to get going without bogging.
If you have not done it yet, I think while you are in there the sleeve/TOB kit would be a good idea.
