I went to install my sidemarkers today. Got them clipped in (though figuring out how to get the originals out was interesting).

Well, I fumbled all around inside the fender near the triangle pop out and there are no wires over there. Do I need to pull the wheel off and pull the entire fender liner out inorder to reveal the wiring?

Also, if I want them to be on with my lights and then alternate, do I colormatch the one wire and then ground to the other wire going to the turnsignal that is not the ground? So like on the driver's side (with sidemarker wire listed first), I'd wire green to green and then black to red?

Hm, how do you figure there should be wires there? I think there aren't any, so you have run new ones. You could pull the fender lining to do that, or you could pop the headlights, and use a wire hanger to pull new wiring. Don't remember now what color wires you have to splice into to get sidemarkers alternate. Do a search here or at nasioc, and you'll find it. If you don't, I could have a look what wires I spliced into :)

I'm pretty sure we dont have wires for the sidemarkers, since they were never an option.

look for that "I just installed my JDM sidemarkers today" thread.

I've read all the threads here on SL-i including that one. All that the "I just installed them today" thread says is to splice them into the wires that aren't ground. Maybe it doesn't matter which one you splice into them. I was just under the impression the wires were physically right there when in reality what was meant is that the wires to tap into are relatively close by.

Hmmm...I've been thinking of picking them up, too. Let us know what you ended up hooking them up to.

DIY coming  Doing it on tuesday, when I have the time. There's alot of corrosion in one of the bulb holders, and so I need to clean that out.

I had to run new wires for mine. You have to take off the headlight to get at the corner marker wires anyways, so while it's off, just fish the wires through.

I just spliced them into the turn light. So they flash with the turn signal, but are off otherwise. I like the idea of having them on all the time though and alternate with the turn signals.

Are all the JDM sidemarkers Amber in color? I thought that maybe that I've seen them in clear.

Maybe baking the sidemarkers is an option?

??

The amber ones are always on dabay, but about once a month the clear ones show up.

Clear ones do pop up from time to time. Baking would do nothing because the lense plastic is amber through and through (like the red/amber of your brake lights.

I do have DIY up as well.
