I love them, two of my friends have highly modded 1994's the only problem with them is their always in the shop for one thing or another, and when I say "always" I DO MEAN ALWAYS!

i've wanted an STI since they came out, but if this oppurtunity to grab this Skyline R32 GTR works out... man I just don't know!

and I looked up on that Vspec, the cheapest I could find was an 02' for $88,000 completely stock with 4,000 miles on it (talk about garge kept)

id do the skyline.. just because they are pretty rare, and if you could get one for a good deal.. would be sweet! Second choice would be the supra!

I'd go for the R32--It'd get more "WTF is THAT?!" looks. Gotta replace the brakes though, Top Gear reported the disks tended to explode on the 32's.

I wanna get it but it's got well over 100,000 on it and I'm not sure how well the RB26DETT runs over 100,000 miles or how long it will last?! anyone have ideas or answers for that?

Well, not in a "bang" sort of way, but enough heat makes them fall apart rapidly--eg: "explode".

I voted STi b/c if I could afford it it would be my only car and its the most practical for that.

If I could have 2 cars, a more mundane Subie and the Skyline would be my choice.

I'd take any of them.

STI probably my number one choice.

Personally, I love Subaru, but I have a real soft spot for the R32. Motorex of L.A. used to import and DOT cert, but they went under i think. THe link below is for a guy that has some great pictures of his GTS-t.
http://r32skyline.bufsiz.jp/

Still, I think that a GT-B should be included in the poll. That would get my vote again and again.

Well if everything goes the way I want it to, by mid 08' I will be the proud owner of either an R32 GTR or R33 GTR... If not I'll go for the 05' STI, but I have always wanted a skyline and finally I might have a resaonable chance at ownering one....

Yes, but people put up with them, because when they are running, the driving experience is second to none. I still miss my FD greatly.
And bang for buck they can't be beat. If reliability is an issue, you can always do a LS swap. All the power of a Z06 in a lighter package.

Rolling stock non running rx-7's in good condition can be bought for around $6k, $10k for a swap, and you have a supercar.

I like the TT Supra's, but they are still very expensive. Since I have a IS300, I'd rather do a complete Supra drivetrain swap.

If you drive it over from Canada... ;)

Well from canada you can probably pick one up for 20,000 and up...
but expect it to have been raced more then you could imagine, you see people inport these cars to canada for the same reason you or I would, if it's been imported already it's been put well through it's paces, probably very highly modified and most have upward of 100,000 miles on them already which is why their being sold..

If you import as I plan to direct from Japan, you can pick them up for around the same price, sometimes even as low as 10K but add customs fees, shipping, shipping insurance fees, legalization fees.. the list goes on.... but expect to get a very well maintained and in some, but very few cases the car has hardly been raced because the skyline is just another car there, like a corvette is to us... Some times they are just bought as a flashy ride, something to drive on the weekends and never modified. They are very common and not always bought as race cars.

if you would really like to see a few really nice skylines... www.toprpm.com (http://www.toprpm.com) <--- skylines and more from the arabia emeriates states

I would like mine to look kinda like the black HKS GTR R32 they also have a video of that car, you should watch!

Nice.. and HOLY SHIT.. must be nice to have that much dough to drop on a car! hah. I thought they were going to be releasing a us GTR for around 60k in a few years.. maybe just wait?

Yeah, I was sure that I heard something about the new R35 (or whatever they are going to call it) in '08, or '09. Also, if I remember correctly, you could get into a GTS-t from Motorex (Out of Business now) for 5k to 9k, and then get it DOT Cert'ed for like 10k. I just remember that it was like 15k-20k to get one. Granted, it was not a GTR, Vspec or anything, but still rare, and a head turner.

I voted for the Subaru, but not necessarily because I'm a Subaru nerd.

The RX7? I'm sure it's a fast car that's fun to drive, but rotaries are still very high-maintenance machines, and simply cannot last as long as a piston engine.

And it still brings the RX8 to mind, and I don't want to own any car that makes me even think about the RX8.

Skyline? Beautiful car, especially the R32. I can't disagree that the RB26 is probably the best engine to ever come out of Japan. But honestly, the only way to 100% legally own a Skyline in this country is to wait until the one you want is 25 years old. Then you have to get parts for it...

Supra? Fast. Very fast. But too Fast-and-Furiousy.

The STi (and the Evo too) are the new douchebag cars of choice, and I'm being 100% honest when I say I'd actually be embarassed in a way to own one. But I'm not in that demographic, and I know the car, both how to drive it and how to work on it. And it's still a sweet car. Thus, it's my choice.

Yes, The R35 which is nothing more then a 350Z "on Speed" with a few body changes... I dislike the way they look so I'm not interested in paying 60k for something I don't like! but it is to be releasted in mid to late 08' that's what they say anyways... in my opinion, anyone that buys that car has way too much money and are just stupid for spending that much for a "super" 350Z.... you could buy a 350z for around 25k now.... spend about 10k and make it and AWD TT, why would you spend double that for it??

You're not thinking.

Canada can import the Skyline much easier than the US. But once it's in Canada, it's easy to get it into the US.

So, you have a Canuck importer bring in a fresh import, and then drive it across the border and have it re-registered.

NHTSA is so stringent on the importation of vehicles (again protecting the unions from international competition) that you'd need to have at least 10 of each model skyline crash-tested before it would be certified to import.

Trust me I have done my research and the car is going (through) Canada but is not being bought in Canada.... once it gets to Canada it will be delievered to my house Via 18 wheeler..then reregistered...
