I was ok with the EBC Greens in the front during the warmer months, but when the sub freezing temps started hitting Detroit, I found the pads loosing a lot of bite when cold, and it would take a couple of hard stops to warm them back up to normal.
Hence the pad change.
Anyway, I picked up a set of Axxis Ultimate ceramic brake pads for the front, $61 shipped from a vendor on ebay, after recommendations from WRX owners on nastysock. After bedding them in, the initial bite is much better than the Greens, even when the latter has been warmed up. Modulation in turn is also better since the stopping power comes at a much more linear rate as opposed to the Greens which were like, "ok, stoppping...need to press more, more, AH too much, screeching halt ensues"
It's also interesting to note the Axxis pad material's edges were not beveled like the Subaru OEM and EBC pads; not really important and I have yet to see if it does anything.
Hence the pad change.
