Here is wifey's car. Black 2002 IS300 5 speed. Before I swapped the STI engine in my car, I tried to wrestle this car away from her.

Way back in 2000 I liked this car, but wanted a manual. When they introduced the 5 speed and rear lsd, I had to pick one up.

My wife likes little cars. Her former car was a 2000 Civic SI. I don't think they are all that different, but she thinks my Legacy is bigger. It might be slightly. Anyway, she gets to keep the Lexus, and she let me mod my car.

It doesn't mean I don't mod her car though.

Here are some Hotchkis sways I installed. The Front swaybar is 30MM!!

It also has an L-tuned rear bumper lip.

On the list of upgrades are;

L-tuned side skirts
L-tuned front bumper and fogs

I have in my garage a Xerd Header and a Greddy TI axelback to install.

I also have a PLP shortshift kit to install.

Possibly the coolest Toyota sedan ever!
I really like these cars. They can be lux-drifters, or just VIP cars.

You can also put supra engines in them

Yes, you can also swap the Supra brakes and 6 speed if you wish.

The block is actually quite strong, and you can install a boost kit. From what I've researched, anything under 450 to 500whp this block can handle, before you should use the Supra lower block and stronger internals from the 2jz-gte.

They make a ton of suspension components for this car. Sub frame braces, etc. It actually handles very nice in stock form, and with these swaybars, it is a very sporty but still comfortable ride.

Good luck getting a L-Tuned front. Might have to settle for CarsonTuned, which is still very hot.

I LOVE IS300's. If I lived somewhere that I could get around with Rwd all year, I would have definetly tried to pick one up instead of the LGT.

Ah yes, so I guess I should confirm that I'm getting carson tuned parts, which is supposedly pretty close to the factory l tuned parts.

I got a decent tax return, so I'm ordering those soon. I'll post up pics.

As for maintenance, very low, as long as you avoid Lexus dealerships. I get major maintenance done at a Toyota Dealership for half the price. The regular oil changes recommended by the factory are 5,000 miles so I do those myself with Castrol Synthetic.

So far, besides the scheduled 45k, 60k, 75k, it's been oil and gas costs.

The IS gets a bit better gas mileage than my swapped Legacy. I would guess it would be mid twenties in mpg or more.

Carson sides and rear are exact to L-Tuned. The front is just a little different. Carson is very good quality though.

I LOVE the IS300s. If I lived somewhere where I could get away with only having 1 RWD car, I'd buy one of these in a second. Awesome job on tasteful mods!

blacked out headlights + gold wheels

My friend had a black IS300 in vegas, the dust tore up the paint pretty bad. But, as a result he showed me many a picture of these cars modded and the black + gold combo was my favorite. They're a very nice looking car, and I still love the IS300 5 door sport wagon.
