Can somebody tell me what EXACTLY is so bad about lowering a 2003 Legacy sedan that no manufacturers will make springs that fit it...except whiteline...anyways, does the AWD shit the bed because of the changes in the center of gravity?
ps. im new by the way. hi everybody.[/img]

Actually, several companies make springs for your car...ION, H&R, Whiteline...and probably a few others. I would reccomend upgrading struts at the same time, as well, as they will most likely be killed by aftermarket springs.

There are also several aftermarket coilover options available at hefty prices.

The bottom line is that there is not a whole lot of aftermarket support for the BE/BH, but there is stuff out there if you look hard enough.

Hey guys, is that chassis compatible with WRX stuff, like ours?

Norma,
Subaru suspension has this tendancy to be akin to legos; most parts fit, and with little tweaks here and there, can fit and perform better than stock. Your model, however, seems to be the Camry of Subaru models; there's not really a mod market.
Would B4 Legacy stuff fit? If that does, then so might many stock and aftermarket WRX parts. . .

Good looking car, and nice to have another female here!

For the most part, BE/BH Legacy suspension stuff is not interchangable with WRX stuff....or older Legacy stuff.

B4 Legacy stuff is interchangeable, and probably widely available down in Aussie land. The only B4 Legacy stuff you need to be careful with is body parts, as there were several revisions.

Exactly, WRX stuff won't work out because the rear suspension utilizes shocks, not struts per say, but you could find a set of B4 Bilstein strut/shock takeoffs from a JDM importer ( www.jdmplace.com (http://www.jdmplace.com) , www.jdmpartstx.com (http://www.jdmpartstx.com) , etc) or contact a bilstein dealer and I'm sure they could get you a set of them. For springs, you can use anything made for the BE -- H&R's will probably give you the most drop, whiteline, prodrive (they do make prodrive springs for the BE, check out www.racecompengineering.com (http://www.racecompengineering.com) for prodrive stuff, they are an authorized dealer and can find you anything you need at a great price (they found a BD prodrive spring set for me, but I opted to do the WRX swap with STI pinks instead). Check those places out, I'm sure you'd be able to find upgraded tophats as well.

I'm looking to put on the ION springs to the OEM struts, anyone has experience on this? Will the springs overkill the stocker?

Is ION any better than H&R?

I have a "BH"

thanks
