Is the starter motor connected?
do you have spark plugs and wires hooked up?
Is it getting fuel?
Is the AFM hooked up?

Air Flow Meter. either MAF or MAP.
It usually has to be connected for the engine to start up, or at least idle.

Engines need 3 things to make them start. Compression, Fuel, and Spark.
Start at the begining.
Have you run a compression check on the motor? It is a pain to do on these cars, but that will reveal if the motor you put in is good. Check each cylinder.
Check for fuel. Disconnect the fuel return line connect a piece of hose from the fuel rail to a bucket, try turning the engine over. Is fuel coming out into the bucket? If not check your fuel pump fuses. If there is, that means the pump is working, but it does not mean your injectors are fireing. (that is a much more involved test.
Check for spark. Pull a plug wire off its plug. Push a long nail into the boot and make contact with the wire. Put the nail/wire near the block and try turning the car over. If you cannot see a spark, readjust the nail/wire and try again. If there is still no spark then there is something up with your ignition system (ecu, coil, wires, ground) Repeat this test for each spark plug wire.
Now if all of these check good, then you most likely have a timing problem of some type (ecu, timing belt off a couple teeth, bad crank or cam angle sensor)
