Lowering and tire pressure

I lowered my 02 legacy some time ago an I was wondering if when you lower a car do you need to change the tire pressure? According to the manual the front shouldbe set to 32 and the rear a 30. Any Ideas?

Tire pressure is somewhat unrelated to the ride height.
You want to maintain either your factory pressures, or run something else, it only really changes the feel of your suspension.

Obviously, weird pressures will result in flat spotting on tires, and probably bad wear patterns.

FWIW, I run 34/34psi.

The weight of you car is still the same so your tire pressures should be the same unless you've changed tire size. Summer I run 225/50/16's at 36psi all around. Wearin really even so far.

Actually, here in mass there is a hight limit to either the bumper or the door sills (can't remember) no truck can be higher than the limit.

So when they go in for inspection you drop the tire pressure to nothing and lower bumpers to pass :)


But back on topic. Tire pressure should not be adjusted because ride of height.

The stock PSI ratings are horribly low. I usually have mine bumped up to 36/34

Do you know what the effects of running it at 36/34 are? is there a difference? Would you see better mileage?

Better milage, better handling, slightly harsher ride, possibly more wear in the center of the tires (depending how high you put it) but I found the wear to be quite even

Ive never heard of having to change pressure due to ride height.
