Did someone say Photobucket bandwidth exceeded!
I'm dying to see this, hopefully you can get those photos up again!
EDIT - It works if I copy the link and reload them elsewhere. I think it would have been more fitting is the Jack kept getting lower and lower in level as the work progressed! Looks good, but hard. Is this a service Dynamix will start to perform?
The only thing I'd like to see is what that would look like ( photoshopped maybe ) if the entire reflector was blacked out. It serves no purpose anyways and may even cause an odd glare from light reflecting off the inside of the plastic. Any chance to get rid of chrome is great in my books. I wonder how the fuzz reacts to something like this. They are Nazi's when it comes to altered headlights in the interior of BC ( where I travel alot ) but don't care in town. I have standard HID's in the reflector setup and I've received two tickets becasue it was deemed "illegal". I wonder if a true setup like this would be able to allow me to tell them to shove it.

Haha yea, Jack Daniels is a big help during tedious projects.
They actually look at your headlights? I've never heard of anyone ever getting a headlight ticket unless they were illegally bright or one was burned out.
If you guys start doing these retrofits, I might send you the headlights out of my GC. I was going to send them to lightwerks on nasioc, but it's $$$.

Im reuploading them to another photobucket account right now.
The reflector will be blacked out once the JBWeld cures and I can take the projector out. Ill also start working on a shroud then.
As for weather this will be a service I can offer, Id have to say its possible, but it will definitely be set on a customer to customer level. There will be no set price, since the level of custimazition is crazy. Also, the amount of labor that goes into this is insane.

A setup like this, will technically be illegal. But, due to the fact that, when done and aimed correctly, there should be NO glare at all, you wont be drawing attention to yourself. If you dont blind him, or have 1Million Kelvin bulbs that are bluer than a cop's lights, half the times he wont even realize your lights are modified, you'll blend right in with the luxury cars. But if you blind the shit out of him with your glare, he will definitely pull you over and bust your balls for it.

Thats about what I figured. I'm going to move the second set of pictures to replace the first set, to save space since both sets work for me. Hope ya don't mind.

Can you resize those photos so I don't have to scroll to see them :)
Looks like a great project. Are those Bixenon Projectors? If not how are you getting High beams with this setup?
I went the simple way for projectors and ordered up some JDEMs and will be retroing them to use HIDs out of a Mercury Murano.
I will probably be retroing some Bixenons into my wifes GC with the same HIDs.

Well, i forgot to rough up the plastics on the housing and cap, so the JBWeld didnt hold. Other than that, everything is good to go. Once the JBWeld dries, the housings will be able to go on the car. I just finished the wiring today
Heres a mock up of the bexel/lens/reflector.
Yes, i know, I dont have a shroud. Im still figureing that out.

Why?
When you can get projectors already built in and just retro HID bulbs into them.

Good question. Might be a nice way to upgrade the projector lens.
Still, I'm off my rocker.
I was probably thinking about my GF wagon back in New Zealand.

If I remember I will make up a DIY for the Murano HIDS I will be making work in my projectors in the next week or so.

HiDPlanet.com is good, but theyre Nazis. Lightwerkz.net/forums is up and comming, and we plan on not being so rediculous on things.
Looks GREAT.

True HiD Projector >>> Halogen Projector with HiD Kit ANY DAY.
You get wider output, sharper cutoff, no hotspots, and, the JDM Projectors have the cutoff sheild on the wrong side..

I have to finish this retro, then retro an Eclipse, after that, Ill start taking orders. Ill let you know then.
What about the high beams?
The projectors are BiXenon, meaning they have the Low beam Projectors are known for, along with a High Beam. The only thing Im losing is Flash to Pass, since HiDs take a couple seconds to warm up, and are sensitive to turning on and off too often.

Nice job! Keep us updated. I was looking into retro as well; I wasn't sure the FX35 projectors would work since they're pretty big...now I think I know what I'll be getting :D
What kind of paint is that on the surrounds, looks like duplicolor bronze?
Those projectors don't need shrouds like the ones with the cutouts on the sides, do they? I kind of like the exposed projector housing look to be honest...but I have the weirdest aesthetics :).

One thing it's missing:
internal eyelid
Just looks like a mean set of eyes and some kind of an eyelid that doesn't block the beam would look awesome!

I do want a pair of eyelids on there, but the question is where can I get a legit pair?

The bronze ended up not working out, so I ended up painting them Black. The front end of the car looks very sinister now.
Here are pictures from a Meet Sunday.

I'd paint the silver portion of the projector assembly in black or another darker color so it blends in a bit more... But that's just me

nice pics!!!
if i want to get a retrofit, is that mean I have to throw away my 9007 hid kit?
Do you mind to explain how to convert from D2S bulbs to 9007?
Khanhfucious
04-12-2007, 12:48 PM
You can use the ballasts, but not the bulb. You also have to rewire the lights so the lows stay on when you hit the highs.
rougeben83
04-13-2007, 08:20 PM
On our cars that just means putting the ground wire directly to a chassis ground, and not back to the headlight socket (also great to bypass the thin ground wires).
Khahn, do you have hi-beam pics too?

Through the hole where bulb socket went.
