The new toy. :D
92 Legacy Sport Sedan (2.2l non-intercooled turbo)
WRX TMIC
RWD-converted 2.5RS transmission
WRX LSD R160/WRX axles
Tein Flex coilovers (GC8 fitment)
99 2.5RS wheels (one of my old sets)
01 RS wheels (amazingly, not one of my old sets)
Grant steering wheel (will be replaced with a QR setup)
Alpine MP3 deck

I think that's it. Needs some little stuff sorted out, and some new tires (who would have thought?) If anyone has some cheap 16" tires they want to get rid of, let me know :D

For now, I'm enjoying having my own car back (and the wagon should be back shortly as well)

Will do. It's got some little stuff but drives nice (and will be better with new tires). Now I get to explore the joys of old wiring and figure out why I have a CEL for knock sensor putting me into limp, even after replacing the sensor.

Joyous :D

But, after not having my own car for over 3 months, feels pretty damn good.

that is one of the nicest classic legacies I have ever seen. Props! You could WTFpwn a lot of cars with that--not many would expect the ooomph that it has.

And now, clean pics in normal damn light.
Anyone who doesn't already know my threads wreck 56k, you know now ;)

Ripped off all the stickers, tossed on a wood wheel (JDM approved, yo!)until I get my QR setup back, new tires, and it's raised about 1/2" in the front becuase it was rubbing not just on the fender liner but on the fender brace..................and stuff. Rides a ton better, now doesn't rub anywhere, and I (and by I mean Paul@DB) can start playing with the wiring so I can get the thing to stop pulling timing and really start boosting.

Still, not bad for 350k miles.

Is it my internet connection, or is the smoke off the rear tires not coming through in these pictures? ;)

hehe, I know. Until whatever's bolloxing up the knock sensor wiring is fixed, its in limp mode and I'm not beating on it. Plus, I blew an axle (was probably a freak thing, but concerned me) so I'm waiting until I get my other car back before I go caning this one, since I still commuted 150+ miles to work and back each day.

Seriously, has it had a repaint? That coat is glossy.

New headlights, chrome delete and a GT carbon wing on the back, tint the windows and you'll be ready to hang a foot out the window on the JGTC circuit!

looks great. fix the knock sensor problem and get some pictures up of it sliding around with the rear tires ablaze!

I think it was repainted 4-5 years ago, and a decent job was done. The black is amazingly pretty swirl-free.

It's probably not going to get a ton of mods; I'm just going to get it running well and play with it a bit, and it will probably get passed on to my local shop as his project when i pick up the STi in a few months. My wagon has always been the long-term project car :D

While I agree, it'd also be a damn shame to cut up an original, completely rust-free car. The only damage on this car is the LF fender, and a little tug on the right (no steering stops mean the wheels can turn a lot more than stock, and it looks like the previous owner's sister-in law crashed over a bump at full lock and bulged the fenders pretty good on the lip). I don't like doing bodywork, and I'm going to stay away from it if possible; the paint on this car is way better than what's on my wagon :(

Oh shut up, both cars are in very good shape. You're lucky in SoCal, no salt.

sybir

I wish you could see the wagon in person, it just photographs well :D
I'm in Norcal, and grew up in the snow, and trust me, the front end and fenders of my car may not be corroded by salt, but they've been sandblasted. The leading edge of my hood is half white (explain why Subaru uses dark primer on light cars and vice versa) and all of the stock lights on my car were destroyed completely before I replaced them with all the Hella stuff and rockblocked the crap out of it :D

Why not? AWD isn't terribly useful in that climate, and Sybir already has an outback.

Not that he did the conversion, that was done by the previous owner.

I don't think any Subaru can truly be considered a "classic" except maybe in our minds, but it's not like he's ruined it anyways. It's even more unique.

I mean, anyone who mods can be considered "ruining" a car's "classicness"

sybir
04-09-2007, 09:41 PM
Additionally, it has an RS transmission, Legacy driveshaft, and early 3.9 LSD with WRX axles; it's all Subaru parts, and it's all bolt-on, so a trannsmission and some new axles would return it to AWD. It was an auto in its previous life anyways....

:D

I'm not sure if I'm gonna sell this one, I may hold onto it for a little while ;)
Pleasanton's a wicked drive when I get off in Sac at 7 PM, though....
