I've been wondering if the TEIN coilover system would work with my BK. I also wonder if it would be worth $2k for it (including the EDFC).

I have Tein Flex's with the edfc on my Gc8, and I love them. You can get them to work on the BK, but with some modification. I think you need to use different tophats, but I'm unsure which ones.

Okay. If I were to use these for Rally, or RallyX, would I be able to put lift springs on them and get the car up off the ground, or would I have to use an outback suspension for that?

I know I can raise my coils above stock ride height, but I don't know if the spring rates would be right for rallyx. I'd lean towards a Tein gravel spec set of coilovers, which I believe are now compatible with the edfc as well.

Ahh, cool. Right now, I want a set that can be set to run "Luxury" for the street, a stiffer setting for mountain roads, and Lifted for extra ground clearance when on logging roads.

Hmm. The best you'll get is probably the Flex's. Granted, it's not really "luxury" even on the softest EDFC setting. Mountain runs theyre great for, and you can raise them up for logging roads and they'd probably be fine, just stiff.

That's what I'm looking for. And by Luxury, I mean "not so stiff that hitting an ant on the freeway will dislocate your spine from your pelvis and skull".

Forget the Flex for what you're describing, they're way too stiff and the max height you'll get in the front is 1 1/4" lower than stock. Look through my old posts for more info.

Yeah, I have a '99 BK and was looking for something stiffer than the GR-2's. I was thinking about AGX's but I can't get a definate answer on what spring and AGX combo will work. I know one guy on here has a Tein Flex on an Outback. Looked nice. Could you guys give me any info on how to actually do the AGX's, or the Flex's work on a '99 Wagon? Thank again.

agx's increase bump and rebound simultaneously. Generally you want to increase rebound and decrease bump when you go to a stiffer spring. My take on AGX's are that they're at their best when used on near stock rate springs as a over/understeer tuning tool.

BTW - you can't run the EDFC system on the BD/BK unless it's a set of Teins designed for the BD/BK - the hood closes too close to the strut top - Imprezas have more underhood clearance.

The newer EDFC motors are apparently much smaller, but I am doubtful as to whether or not they fit either.

sounds like its time for some 3000gt style hood blisters!!!

 Now I'm going to have to do just that...

I'll make a few phone calls before I buy a system. I was also thinking Scorpion lift springs + Flex = ftw? I'll look into it some more. If I have to swap springs with the system, that would be okay, right now I just want something for road and for twisties. :)
