1995 - 2000 Factory Service Manuals

I recently obtained a CD with the complete FSM for 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 Legacy & Outbacks, and I had a sneaking suspicion you guys might be interested.

Thanks a lot for posting this. I'm downloading the manual for my '97 GT right now, and the speed is pretty good. I'm on satellite internet so I can only get speeds around 10-20KB/s, but there are 4 seeders at the moment.

It's a torrent file, it doesn't contain the files, but instead it contains information as to the location and size of the files. You have to open it with a torrent client to begin the download, one of the best of which is micro torrent, http://www.utorrent.com/

It's worth your time to learn to use torrents, trust me.

I downloaded my car's info to Firefox, then seen this. I went and downloaded the UTorrent file after. How do "I" access the files from here? (Yeah, I'm computer illiterate :grin: )

After installing utorrent, find the torrent file. Firefox may have the default download location be the desktop, which makes things easy. If you can't find the file on your desktop, go to Tools > Options... in Firefox and set the default download location to the desktop. It's not really worth the effort finding the file if it didn't go to your desktop to start.

Once you've found the file, right click it and click Properties. Next to Opens with: if it doesn't say uTorrent then click Change... and select uTorrent from the list. If uTorrent is not on the list click Browse... and navigate to C:\Program Files\uTorrent\utorrent.exe now torrent files will open in uTorrent when double clicked on.

To automate the process of queuing up torrents a bit, once you click the download button Firefox presents you with download options including Open with and Save File. Select Open with and select uTorrent from the dropdown menu. If it's not there select Other... and navigate to C:\Program Files\uTorrent\utorrent.exe

If you still can't get it, then put down the computer before you hurt yourself. I'm just joking, let me know if you have an issue.

I have an issue with the 1998 pack.

SubaruLegacy1998\1998\Service Manual\WIRING DIAGRAM\WIRING DIAGRAM\MSA5TCD98L21376.pdf

is corrupt, which is very unfortunate because at 2.5MB it's likely around 60 pages, which I believe is most of the wiring diagrams for the whole car. Although I could likely use the 1997 version for my purposes (which I have not tried yet, and the 1999 will be different due to engine/sensor upgrades) I would like to have a working version of the file.

If anyone can repair .pdf files, or if AussieDan has a working copy, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

aussiedan said the file is corrupt on the disc he got. ive tryed to repair the file. but the pdf is a blank 140 pages, you should be able to use the 97 wiring with no issues

Ive downloaded it twice now on different torrent downloaders (transmission and utorrent). Both times i cant open the file or it says that there are no files to extract. This is for the 97 download. Any ideas??

What program are you using to unpack it? I recommend 7zip or WinRAR.

im downloading it now ill seed when done. are all of them the same for the legacys? like 96 and 98? if there different i might just get all of them

There are minor differences. In 1999 a lot changed even though it's the same gen chassis. The 1998 Legacy manual set has a corrupted wiring diagram file, so you'll have to use the one from the 1997. Also the 1998 has a corrupted diagram for the manual transmission shifter, so you'll need the one from the 1999 because the 1998 and 1999 are the same but the 1997 is different.
