I haven't had a chance to really investigate any farther than a search on NASIOC but I've got a noise question for you guys.

When driving relativly slow (less than 20mph, might also be over 20 mph but other sounds overpower it) I can hear a "tapping" noise from my passenger side wheel area. Almost like i have a rock or nail in my tire(which I don't). But it sounds exactly like it, speed sensitive and everything. However, as for as I can tell, it goes away when I touch the brakes.

I say as far as I can tell because the sound is kind of intermitent, it doesn't always happen, and it only happen when the wheels are straight.

Wheel bearing? Dust shield? Unicorn?????????

I'm not looking for maricles here (i know you can't diagnose sound over teh interweb), but has anyone had anything similar?

Ehhhhh subarus and their noises.....

Sounds like you have a brake problem, then.

Probably the brake dust shield, or possibly a loose pad...

Hmm, i didn't think about the loose pad, and my slightly warped rotors would explain why it is the tapping noise as the rotor rotates... it catches the pad. I'll look into that.
