This is my 1996 Legacy wagon. It was bought in 2005 with 123k miles. When I bought it:

Video of the car with the snorkus removed, ebay intake, and cadillac horns installed:

My first attempt mounting the hella 500's. The height was right, but they bobbled way too much, and the mounts just looked cheesy. A light bar at this height would be perfect:

Then it looked like this for a short while (needed new tires)

This is the most recent pictures, though, there's been a few changes even still that I need to document.

No... not yet... I am going to be painting my headlight housings and foglights when I get back home next week, around that time the drop will be going on, my wheels will go back to the RS wheels, my JDM grill insert has been here for a while, but no place in the dorms to repaint the grill, so that'll go in as well, and after I take a welding class this summer, I will be making a light bar to mount some larger fog lights like in the picture. The euro plate might go on after I convert the car to e85 (the license plate will say something like e85 GT or something to that effect).

Since my avatar might change in the future... Here's an idea of where I'm going:

Deadlydave, thanks for the compliment! I hope it's the RS wheels you like, because I can't wait to get those back on. Too many legacy's rolling around on WRX wheels, and hardly any on RS wheels.

My old fogs! Good to see you got 'em in. I actually like the White rims, I bet they're hard to keep clean though...

Wow. It's been so long since an update. In fact. No pics even of the white wheels+jdm lights. Well... It's been a really rough year for Julie. Senior year of college meant that I was extremely busy and neglected her more than I would have liked to. I think that magnetized people to abuse her too. I'll get to that in a second... First of all, I got a new camera. YAY! My last one went out over a year ago. It's a fujifilm S1500, 10.0megapixel, 12x optical zoom. It's pretty sweet.

So, I took this picture:

And when I zoomed out:

In november I was rearended by a chevy pickup with a brush guard. Here's the results:
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/1816/damage1.jpg

What is harder to see is the two indents below the license plate. The bottom edge of the trunk is curled under, and there is a crease on the bottom left face, caused by two separate bends in the trunk. Then, sometime in february, someone backed into my car with a trailer hitch- I think. That's all I can think of to cause this hole, either way, no note or anything:

Now comes time for the white wheels to leave. Needed a set of tires, got some WRX wheels with brand new kumho tires on them. Bye bye to the super soft falken ziex's. If you have children in the room, shield their eyes, this is scary:

I already used all the insurance money from the rear ending. I've been unemployed since january, and hopefully will have my diploma in july, but the school keeps toying with me. As a result no low level jobs want to hire me, risking that I leave after being trained, and no high level jobs want to hire me because I don't yet have my degree. I have a tail light garnish that moclovflop gave to me a long time ago. I need to install it still. I kind of like the band aid though.

My next set of plans is to go rally-style again. I'm going to have a local shop fab up a light bar for the front. I'm torn between painting the WRX rims a satin black, or finding a set of mesh wheels and making them satin black. Then I'm going to get the lug nuts blasted and painted with some green POR15 or powdercoated green. Center light garnish will be painted black, with one reverse light being converted to a fog brake light. Annnnd I'm going to bring back the mudflaps:

wow, could you even drive in the rain with those bald tires?!
just having an L wagon in college just seems like a bad idea, mine has had it's fair share of beatings too. not as bad as yours but still, just keep on adding dents to the car.. definitely wanna see the fog brake light and you should get some DIY mudflaps!

^ I could drive in the rain and stop in the rain no problem actually. I tried to flick the back end out once, and gave it a half turn arm lock kinda quick and the car just plowed straight with understeer. If I hit the brakes like this I could get the back end out.

This car has been perfect for me in college. Less attention from cops, it's been through 3 moves with no Uhaul required, and I have had very minimal issues (all that I fixed on my own, except the clutch).

I looked at the brightness of the reverse lights, and I think I'll need some LED bulbs, otherwise they won't be any brighter than my current brake lights. Also, those mudflaps were DIY. I just ripped off the rear ones backing onto a driveway one time. I kind of drove up the mudflaps instead of up the curb, so the rear tires just ripped them right off, and that was the last time I had them mounted.

oh nice! that's good to kno about the tires..
yeah don't get me wrong, i LOVE my car and i'm so glad i have it now for all of those reasons you have mentioned. still attracts abuse for some reason tho..
i've been thinking about getting LED license plate lights. the jdm rear garnish helps the reverse lights because the whole back area is clear for the lights to show. I've always been worried about doing that with my rear mudflaps too but i haven't done that yet!
hopefully it won't happen again with yours!
