Nah, Subaru would exist, but it's future would be shaky. We can thank Toyota for their partnership and help, but it's not like they were the only way to survive.

But I don't mind the partnership, I think it'll do Subaru some good. And they can finally share the american plant with someone and get it used, it's expensive to pay for unused space in a building that huge.
