Review: TiC Narrow Pivot Bushings

Not sure where this should go, but maybe the Admins could make a Review category and perhaps some of us could write some elaborate reviews on certain products? Pro/cons, etc etc.

I just received my Narrow Pivot Bushings (they are narrow because they fit into my Kartboy Short Shifter) and have been installed. My shifter's always had a very slight, maybe 1/4" play back and fourth or up and down while in neutral. I assumed this was caused by the stock bushings and these narrow bushings would eliminate that. I was wrong. The play is still there, not as apparent but there are also a couple other benefits.

Pros:
• The rattle in 3rd gear is now gone. With the stock bushings, the shifter lever would rattle at/or above 4k RPM
• You can tighten the bolt holding the shifter as tight as you can without causing the shifter to seize movement.

Cons:
• Play wasn't reduced as much as I had hoped for.

Play would probably be fixed by the bushings in the linkage.

The pivot bushings should just make things smoother, not affect play.

Another good idea is to get the front and rear bushings for the bottom half of the shifter assembly, they'll help with play.

I've installed the front ones, just never got a chance to put the rear one in. I'll install that and see if there's a differance.. thanks!
