Hello

I have a worn out u-joint on my AWD Legacy Sedan's 95 rear driveshaft.

Can I replace it with the rear driveshaft from a Legacy Wagon 95+ ?

Both the trannies are manual.

Well, the wheelbases are the same, so the drive shaft should be the same length. Bump, so one of the gurus can weigh in on the subject.

so there's absolutely no difference between rear driveshafts from sedan or wagon?

Assuming it was the same generation with the same transmission, there is no difference.

again, the rear wheels are equally as distant from the tranny whether it is the wagon or the sedan. The wagon's extra length comes from the rear bumper hanging out further over the rear axles.

For same generation You mean 95-99?

The transmission is the same, manual, although Sedans don't have low range gears.

Here in Slovenia is much easier to find parts from Wagons then from Sedans.

Thank all for help.

Maybe I don't know the right word.

Our first generation Legacies Wagon have that option of reduced gears. I'm not so sure about second generation.

you better ignore any advice you get from this forum. Us amerikuns didn't get low range boxes and know nothing about the low range drivetrain.

i would try asking the good folks at http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/

the aussies got both drivetrains and probably know whats up.

good luck!
