Well...Anyone considered swapping headlights?
Sure you did, but NOT from another Subaru...?

Financial situation being how it is here in Croatia, one has to be imaginative. So, I found a couple of lights that I think would look nice on my '97 wagon (still haven't learned BG, BJ and other codes, sorry... :D ).
1: Alfa romeo 145/146 fits repeater with minor metal bending. Central part requires some fibreglass work.

2: Fiat punto 2000/2001 Haven't tried to fit yet

3: Mitsubishi Galant 2002/2003 Haven't tried to fit yet

That fiat looks a lot like an Audi :D

Just don't do something like this....

I'd say go with the Alfa one, it looks a lot like the JDM projector Subaru headlights. I'll see if I can find a picture for you.

That poll really needs one more choice.

Take the car to a scrap yard, run it through a car crusher and put the poor thing out of it's misery. That wouold get my vote for sure.

Sorry I don't have the taste in interior like you. Cause I'd really like my car to look inside like baboon ass, too... That would surely get your vote, too...

Just fightnig fire with fire, man, you started it. Sorry...

Oh man.....people need to be more direct with their comments (NDBBM)....DDCTD you're fine, he wasn't speaking about your car. Breathe...its okay.

Its an interesting topic....

You ever think about the previous 5 series BMW?.....I've mentally toyed with the image of taking the dual lamps and modding them to fit in a Legacy headlamp.....I think if it was done right, it would look real sharp!

That just inspired me to do this little chop:

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2005/07/SubaruBMW5serieslamps-1.jpg

BMW 5 series with Rings of Fire option INSIDE the OEM Subaru housings.....better than morettes.

thoughts?

If I could pull those Bimmer ones off, I would in a second!

But since I can't, I'm waiting in line for a great deal on nice GT-B projectors.

Sorry about that ddctd2AWD, Like Gator said I was actually talking about the car in Marks link. I actually like the work you have done on your car. Can't wait to see the finished front bumper.
Now on to my car. I like the baboon ass comment. Now that is funny. Thing is I just bought the car so I am not to blame for the rice that was thrown at it before I got the car. I've pulled all the trim pieces and returned them to black. The GTR emblems and the fart can are gone too. She should be back to normal pretty soon.

I thought the babboon ass comment was about the legstacy! haha, It looks as bad if not worse as NDBBM's GTR when he bought it. No offense to NDBBM, as he said, it wasn't how he wanted it. hey, you should update your pics too!

This is the point in my life when I officially admit that my understanding of english is WAAAAAY below point I thought it was.
Sorry, but sometimes I misunderstand what someone wanted to say and react defensive. I'm glad you decided to put things back to normal inside your Legacy!! When are there going to be new pics?

Hey, Gator, you've got some interesting ideas! I'll see if I can get my hands on some of the used BMW lights, and try if they could somehow fit in there. I'll also post a few pics... Only problem is that I have to manage timing, since I have to borrow digital camera from work... But, like you showed, Photoshop indeed does miracles, and I use it all the time, so...if not in real world, we can do various fittings in theere, right? On the other hand, where there is the will, there is the way!

Ok, Mark and dedicated, I know, I need to update the pics. Just haven't had any time lately and being in the middle of a 7 day run at work I don't know when I will have time. I'll try soon though.
Dedicated, don't apologize for your English. I'm sure you are doing a much better job with or language than most of us would do with yours. I understood that when I saw the baboon ass thing. Again I think that's funny as hell. Never thought of it that way before, and now that I have I have to laugh every time.

Now back on topic.
I like the idea of swapping lights from another car instead of just buying aftermarket. It had me standing out in front of work for about 10 minutes yesterday looking at the headlights on a BMW 525i sedan. Not sure what year, but it looked like with a little work they could fit.

I think beemer lights could be fitted to replace OEM lights, but I'm not so sure how would it be possible o put it INTO OEM housings...?
And, definitely, Rings of Fire, or, as I've heard, Angel Eyes would make it look awesome!!! I was looking at the rear of Legacy, and have absolutely nothing to add, comment, or replace there. When it comes to lights, of course.

I don't know, I plan on making rear bumper after I finish front one. How about rear diffusor (Ferrri F355, or almost any newer)? Not so much because of the effect (as if I could calculate downforce... :geek: ) but for the looks? Throw in two mufflers, central or one on each side... Just throwing ideas, nothing specific...
(BTW, I know OEM means that the part is original and exactly the same as everything that was on the car when it came out of factory, but what does it stand for?)

OEM = Original Equipment from Manufacturer

I think you could use the OEM housings to fit them in. Heat them up in the oven as you would with directionals if you were taking out the orange. Do the same with the Bimmer lights.

Now take out the reflector in the Legacy housing and try to fit the black bezel from the Bimmer lights in the Legacy housing. See what needs to get trimmed in order to sit in the lamp.

No doubt, you'll need to cut off some of the top of the lamps to match the hood line (and shape of the housing) but I think it adds an even MORE menacing look to the headlamps than the Bimmers have. (Love the angry look!)

Only tricky part is finishing up the rear portion. How one would change up the bulbs? You wouldn't want to have to heat them up again to seperate the clear part from the backing.

And that photochop used my BD with 540 lamps. Little shading, little brightness control, some contrast and fading and voila, you get what I posted.

Oh and DCCTD, don't worry about your english.....heck, some of us can't get it right! Its all good.

Thats what I wish the morettes looked like, I love the look of Bimmer lights, if the morettes only had a clear glass lens over the whole thing in the stock shape, it would be sharp as hell. What if you tried that? Fabing clear plastic/glass over morette lamps or such. I think that should be the next project...or someone should email Morette to update their legacy lights.

And If you're interested in clearing your amber corners...here's a link...It gives you all the info to take apart the housings and stuff (plus clear corners look nicer, so you can start by doing this first!)

Ryan, thats basically what I'm talking about. Stuffing the lighting guts into the OEM Legacy housings. I agree, it would look uber-sharp. I would take that even if I couldn't have Fire Rings.
