ok so i got the engine today, and i lifted my car and started the investigation. For one there is no way to swap turbos between sides because the secoundary turbo is on the right bank where it has the most room, to that is perfect. The primary turbo up and down pipe will be a issue. 2.5 NA engines exhaust man. is routed under the engine cradel where the ej20tt has the up piping huging the head straight up to the turbo. so i need either the origonal jdm cross member that came with this engine or swap one from a wrx. I looked at a wrx cradel and if the fame is the same width then will be a perfect solution, i priced one out at $225. Then the down pipe for the primary turbo will need a custome header bend pipe. it will be a percise squeeze to say the least but i believe it can be done. Also if you know some basic electrical principles work on cars ever day as i do, taking out the dash and swaping wiring is not going to be a big deal, just time intesive. I also found that most all wire colors are exactly the same between american and japanese. And keeping the two turbos is going to be as easy for me then buying a a sigle turbo set up... cause i can have shit welded, so there.

When you're done and I get back to CO in August, can I come molest your car?

Haha way to be stubborn Peter. I trust you man, you'll make it work. And what you described to me on the phone....as long as you get that WRX subframe (crossmember?) it sounds like you should be good. All that welding for the turbo relocate might be a pain, along with the custom exhaust, and wiring but you'll get it.

Pretty much all the info you need is actually in the swaps stickies.

The TT engine is the same except for the exhaust manifold & turbo mounts... the cross member is also the same as the WRX.

ok so there are the pics that i took from the tear down day. I found a leaking shaft bearing in the secoundary turbo. So i will have to get it rebuilt. But yeah here are some pics.

added from another thread:
ok so here are some pics and a update. So i got the Y-pipe off today and found the secoundary turbo has a slightly loose shaft bearing. So i am going to find a machine shop in denver that rebuilds turbos. Not that big of a deal. and yeah just more inspections plotting. Here are the three wireing harnesses that i need to install.

I combined your two threads. I would just use this to update your progress. You can change the title by editing your first post.

Peter, you're lucky man that's the EJ20R......it has some crazy wicked stuff that came in it. Sodium filled exhaust valves.....280 Hp.... lower compression than the EJ20H, plus a few other crazy things...

Wait, so you're trying to keep the two turbos on there?

How're you going to pull that off with the steering rack?

well there is room for the secound turbo but in not in the right spot. So i plan on making a custome up-pipe that hugs the cyl head better. then i am going to have a exhaust shop make a header style down pipe to loop around the booster and next to the trani. Then meld that into the y-pipe and back to the rest of the exhaust. This is all the theroy i have come up with but it seems do-able. ALso i need to replace the engine cradel for a wrx cradel so the up-pipes can go between instead of under the member. I will keep ya'll up dated but donte expect new progress every day i have alot of work to do to the engine before i stab it and work on the exhaust

Make a hole in the hood and put it there. Like the old brumby/brat with the WRX swap in the youtube video.

Haha or miata's with big blocks in them....

Good thing you brought this back up, this week he's going to test fit the engine into a 97 BG with no engine to see what's going to need to be moved/modified. Then the fun begins. Look for updates in the next couple weeks (mated with cell phone pictures!!)
