I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.. but i think 01+ had MAP.. maybe 00+ ..

I am installing a SAFC II. I had asked in another post for the ECU diagram and it doesnt tell me where the Mass air flow sensor is. Also on the diagram I am looking for the RPM wire. It too isnt listed. or is it listed under a different name? These are the last two wires we need.!

I believe the tach wire is on the coilpack (blue IIRC on my moms 2000 outback). I called my local dealership and they told me. 2000+ legacy is MAP

Nice.. thanks for the confirm. I figured that it was prolly 00.. because i think 99 was when they stopped using the MAF.. or at least thats all i know, because mine is a 99 and it has MAF.

So does anyone know what wire on the ECu is the RPM wire? you mentioned it was blue on the coil pack is it blue all the way to the ECU? does it have any markings?
